Doug and Hayley Whelpton

Douglas and Hayley are the team behind Whelpton Farm. When they aren’t doing chores, they love spending time with their kids and grandkids, playing games, gardening, and hosting friends and family over delicious food.

Life has carried them through different businesses and career paths, but the farm is where Douglas and Hayley feel at home.

Our Roots

Good things take time. Whelptons have been raising beef for over 125 years across four generations.

The original Whelpton farm was founded in 1898 in Moosomin, Saskatchewan. This is the farm that Douglas (pictured here) worked as a boy with his brother and parents.

Douglas and Hayley started the Claresholm, Alberta farm in 2012. While the location changes, our family legacy remains.

We are proud to share Whelpton beef from our family to your’s.

Our Why

We believe that beef should be better than what is typically sold at supermarkets. Mass-produced meat is farmed in a way that is fast and unnatural, resulting in a low-quality product on your plate.

Whelpton Beef is farmed with care so that you can enjoy beef the way it was intended to be - Tasty & Tender. We personally ensure the health and wellbeing of each and every animal on our farm from calving to butchering. Our small-scale business is how we’ve been raising cattle for generations, and it is still the best way to raise quality livestock.
